It’s May. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our moms.
What an exciting month for all of us. We start with our annual Yom Hashoah service. Thanks to Milt and Lori Beth for coordinating this poignant time of reflection. A week later, on Sunday, May 15, we elect a new slate of officers at the general membership meeting. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. And then on Friday, May 27, our children lead another Shabbat service. Those are three wonderful opportunities for our families to come together inside Congregation Beth Israel.
Before you know it, the High Holidays will be here. A committee led by Michael Goldin has interviewed a ritual leader for our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. We have a second conversation with the candidate later this month. Hopefully, we’ll reach an agreement to bring her to our shul next fall. Once we finalize that deal, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Hazzan.
What would you like from Congregation Beth Israel in the next 12 months? This is your chance to offer suggestions. Our goal is to create ritual and social programming that make Congregation Beth Israel more interactive.
See you this May in our sanctuary and our social hall.
